On an Italian wine streak here with another silky soft gem from Puglia – this time from Waitrose and also great value (particularly when sometimes on offer for £6.50 👀) 

Deep ruby colour, ripe plums and cherries with damson jam. Overlaid with hints of cassis, vanilla and a warming peppery spice. A well balanced, very tasty drop of wine. 

Quite easily polished off on a lockdown weekend playing board games or curled up reading a book. 

I would also recommend the Triade Bianco available in Waitrose which I have reviewed before, a blend of Fiano, Falanghina and Greco- equally delicious
